“Hey Doc, Once again, I hope to have you come speak to the team this Spring. We’ve now won 6 NCAA Championships in a row, and there is no doubt that your help pre-race always helps tremendously. I am so glad I came to hear you. You nailed it, and now my guys get the benefit too. Thanks again!” – MR (CU Tri-team coach)
Stephen Walker’s keynote is titled “Lessons From Olympians – How to Create Consistent Success While Preserving Your Sanity”. In this talk, he shares his signature story, and how looking for a bathroom turned into the golden experience that launched a career. A true story of how preparation meets opportunity. Most importantly this talk illustrates how challenges are to be embraced, skill building solves problems, and confidence comes from recognizing that recording one good thing, everyday, leads to a champion’s mindset. He creates an atmosphere enabling each individual to take ownership of their preparation, effort, and attitudes to forge success one day at a time.
He speaks most frequently on performance skills and preparing for competition. Specifically, in “Going for the Gold – Skill Building for Excellence” he features segments on ‘Stress Management, Self-talk, Arousal control, Emotional composure, Thought discipline, and P4 Thinking’.
Finally, he is a very compelling speaker on health topics especially focused on those with, or hoping to, prevent cardiac concerns and cancer. In his program “The Protective Effects of Positive Emotions”, Dr. Walker includes a signature story of his own challenge battling colon cancer. This program illustrates how one’s attitude, and the acquisition specific skills can make all the difference. His goal is to help patients move beyond survival – to thriving in their lives.
Here are some examples of Dr. Walker being interviewed on many of the talking points he incorporates in his trainings.
